YAP Young
Terms and Conditions
1. These terms and using your account –
These legal terms are between you and YAP Pakistan (YAP Pakistan/us/we). YAP Young is an account you can give your child access to. YAP Young has no contractual or legal relationship with any child who uses the account. You’re responsible for making sure that any child who uses the account does so in line with these T&Cs.
Your YAP Pakistan T&Cs also apply to your YAP Young account. If these T&Cs are inconsistent with your YAP Pakistan T&Cs on the same issue, then these terms will apply.
You’re responsible for your child’s use of the account, including any losses they might incur. If we suffer any losses because of the way, you or your child uses the account, then you’ll be responsible for paying us back.
2. How the account works –
You can set up a YAP Young account to help manage your child’s everyday spending. You can have a maximum of 4 Young accounts – you can give one child access to each account. We’ll refer to the account using your child’s name in your app.
You’ll be the legal and beneficial owner of any money in the account.
You’ll need a YAP Pakistan account to have a YAP Young account. If we need to close or freeze your YAP Pakistan account for any reason, we’ll also close or freeze your YAP Young account.
Your child must be a Pakistani resident, and you must be the parent or legal guardian of any child you give access to. We may ask for proof of your relationship with the child, or other information to verify your child’s identity at any time.
3. Getting your child set-up –
If your child is aged between 6-17, you can give them access to a YAP Young account.
We’ll use your child’s email address/phone number to link them to your account. You can also grant your child access by using a 4-digit pin or a QR code that you can generate in your YAP Pakistan app.
Your child doesn’t have to log in to the YAP Young app or have their own device to use a YAP Young account. They can spend on the card without a device or the app but won’t be able to see the information we display in the app (for example, the account balance). We’ll notify you and you shall have full visibility whenever their account/card is used
4. Account information –
By giving your child access to a YAP Young account, you’re giving them permission to access the account information. This includes account details, transaction history and balance information.
You can also see your child’s details in the app, and you’ll be responsible for making sure that your child keeps the PIN safe.
5. Your Child’s card –
You can order a card for your child through the YAP Pakistan app. By doing this, you’re agreeing that your child can make card payments within the card control limits that are set.
Replacement cards
We do charge a fee for replacement cards for reasons such as if your child loses their card or if it stops working because they damaged it. We’ll take the fee from your YAP Pakistan account.
We’ll also charge you for replacements where your child’s card expires, is faulty when you receive it, has been stolen, has been swallowed by an ATM or if we’ve cancelled your card because we’re concerned about fraud.
6. Turning 18 –
We will freeze and cancel their YAP Young account when they turn 18. They can apply for their own YAP Pakistan account when they turn 18. Unlike this account, they would be the account holder and legal owner of the money.
7. Spending & Sending money –
You can use customisable controls to turn cash withdrawals and online payments on or off. You’ll find these within Card Control.
Your child can use the YAP Young account to make these kinds of payments:
- Card payments
- Online payments
- ATM withdrawals
To top up your YAP Young account balance, you can make a transfer from your YAP Pakistan account. You can also transfer money from your YAP Young account back to your YAP Pakistan account.
You accept responsibility for all spending on the account and acknowledge that we’ll treat any payment a child makes as authorised and made by you.
As you legally own the money, the YAP Young account might not be the right place to keep your child’s long-term savings. If you are using your YAP Young account in this way, we may suggest you move those savings elsewhere.
8. How to contact us –
You can get in touch with us through the YAP Pakistan app.
Email us at help@yappakistan.com
Phone us on 042111212434 or 03000081266
You’ll need to notify us about things like stolen cards or fraudulent transactions. See your YAP Pakistan T&Cs for more details.
We won’t get involved in a dispute between you, your child or anyone else you give access to the account. If we become aware of a dispute, we can freeze or close your YAP Young account.
9. Closing your account –
Once this agreement has started it won’t end until you or we end it. If you’d like to, please get in touch with us. You’ll need to transfer your balance to your YAP Pakistan account and repay any money you owe us before we can close your account. Once we’ve closed it, your card won’t work and neither you or your child will be able to access your account.
We can close your account immediately if you’ve given us any false information or if you’re using your YAP Young account in a way that isn’t allowed under these T&Cs. We can also decide to close your account for the reasons set out in your YAP Pakistan T&Cs
