Security Engineer

As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for safeguarding YAP Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and systems against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure the integrity of the platform. This includes monitoring for potential security breaches, conducting risk assessments, and responding to incidents in a timely manner. You will collaborate closely with the IT, compliance, audit, DevOps and product teams to ensure that all security protocols align with industry standards, FinTech regulations, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze system logs, network traffic, and security alerts for signs of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, or unauthorized access.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including breaches, malware infections, and phishing attempts, to mitigate risks and minimize impact.
• Work with the compliance team to ensure security measures align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Implement and maintain security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint protection, to safeguard digital assets.
• Collaborate with external cybersecurity experts, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies in case of major security incidents or breaches.
• Develop and update security policies, procedures, and incident response plans to strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
• Provide training and awareness sessions for staff on cybersecurity best practices, threat prevention, and the latest security trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in hands-on Cybersecurity and risk management, ideally in digital banking or fintech.
• Strong knowledge of threat detection systems, tools, and industry practices.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
